This collection is designed to help you do just that. With products to help you create moments of sanctuary and encourage mindfulness and relaxation – in a way that can easily fit into your everyday. Let this new collection bring you a sense of calm and remind you to take it a little slower as we share out Top 10 ways to slow down and enjoy every moment, with our latest Collection.

1| Put pen to paper regularly

Make a ritual of writing it all down. Write your thoughts, your ideas, your learnings, your goals,  be mindful of how you feel and get it out onto the page to help bring clarity. Make this time for you. Time to slow down and time to reflect. Whether it’s writing down three things you’re grateful for each day, or simply recording our thoughts and feelings, or something else entirely. It’s up to you. Choose beautiful pens to help inspire you and enjoy the process.

2| Create a daily journaling practice

We all know the power of putting pen to paper, but the real power comes from making it a daily practice. Find yourself a quiet space, fill it with your favourite things (a candle, some music, whatever you love) and choose a Journal that inspires you. It may be blank, like our 365 Journal or Snap Journals for you to fill with the musings of your mind, or it may be more guided with little prompts to inspire and help your grow along the way, just like our Slow Journal or Sentence a Day Journal. Again, whatever it is you choose, make sure to slow your mind and make a real ritual out of your journaling practice.

3| Plan your time and schedule time for you!

Just like an important meeting, a doctor’s appointment or a dinner date, remember to schedule in some ‘me time’ into your days. Decide what works for you and be sure to block out time in your Diary, Calendar or Planner , set a reminder on your phone or place a sticky note somewhere you’ll be reminded daily. And do it!

Something else that’s important to schedule in your day or week is time where you can fully unplug and get offline. Give your mind a rest. Put your phone away, don’t check emails and don’t watch television. Get outdoors, go for a walk, read a book, spend time with loved ones, exercise – whatever you do, be fully present in the moments that arise and enjoy zero distractions from technology. By making a habit to unplug,  to slow down, you can help foster greater mindfulness, creativity and productivity.

Our new favourite planning and scheduling tool is the A5 Personal Planner in this Collection. Whether you love the feeling of getting organised or have made it a goal of yours to begin feeling calmer and in control of your time, this is sure to be your new best friend!

4| Write your to do lists the day before

Take the time each night or before the end of a working day, to stop, pause and reflect on the day just been. Then, think about what it is you have to do, and want to achieve tomorrow. Write it down. This practice can help you avoid waking up to thoughts about the day ahead as you’ve already planned it out. By putting everything in writing you’ll be getting it out of your head and onto the page, so you can create a calmer mindset each evening and start fresh each morning. Treat yourself to a sweet To Do List from this range and enjoy!

5| Invite some greenery and natural beauty into your home or workspace

There are few things that can bring as much pleasure to your day as a slice of nature. So,  why not invite that beauty indoors and onto your desk?

It has been proved that plants can help relax our bodies and minds, and our overall outlook on certain situations. They also work as all-natural air purification systems – improving our health and wellbeing. Plus, when you take the time to add plants to your personal space and water them and tend to them, you’ll slow down, make your environment feel more like home, and you’ll invite a sense of balance and calm indoors.

We are head over heels for our Porcelain Fox Planters in this range. Featuring the cutest fox design with rose gold detailing, they’re a super-fun and quirky way to add some greenery into any space. Perfect for seedlings, succulents and office-friendly plants, they also make a lovely gift for any budding botanists.

6| Take your time

Seems simple enough, right? Sure, it does, but how often do we actually do it? Actually take our time and slowly work on something or enjoy a moment. Really take our time to savour something. For many of us, the answer is never. So, let this be your little encouragement to do just that – take your time.

For example, rather than making yourself a cup of tea and going straight back to your desk, enjoy it somewhere lovely. Perhaps outside in a garden, or somewhere nice in your home. Taste it, enjoy it, let the warmth of it fill you with joy. Then, apply this same method to as many take as you can throughout the day. Stop rushing. Take your time. and see how much better you’ll feel.

7| Write a letter (not an email or text message!)

There’s something so special about snail mail. Choosing to take the slow way, the traditional method of writing a letter or a beautiful card instead of sending an email or text. Let someone know you’re thinking of them, write a heartfelt message, then seal and send it on its way. You’ll feel wonderful, trust us! And we’ve got the perfect Letter Writing Set and Card Packs in this collection to help you on your journey.

8| Make time for creativity

Just as letter writing can help us to slow down as we think about what to write and send to a loved one, being creative, whether that be writing, drawing, painting, paper crafting or creating DIY Photo Albums for loved ones, has the same effect of calming us.  It doesn’t matter if you’ve never been creative before. Try something new. Enjoy the feeling creativity brings. Explore our full range of DIY products and items to help you express yourself and create keepsakes to treasure forever – but most of all, take your time and have fun!

9| Give yourself little reminders to slow down every day

We know we all need a little help sometimes to be reminded to look after ourselves and our wellbeing. No matter how much theory we know, sometimes life gets full and we end up on that cycle of busyness that can sometimes be hard to step off. So, give yourself a little helping hand with little reminders and simple tips to slow down. Our ‘Slow’ Empowerment Cards are perfect for this, with 52 cards filled with prompts and activities designed to remind you to slow down, encourage mindfulness, relax a little and embrace more ‘you time’ – in a way that can easily fit into your everyday. Choose one each day or week to help you live a calmer life or display them around your office or home to inspire your every day. They’re also the perfect gift for a loved one.

10| just pause and breathe

Sometimes we all need a little reset. A simple way to do this is to pause, close your eyes and take five deep breaths. In and out. This is especially helpful in times you may be feeling a little overwhelmed or anxious.

11| it’s ok to rest (Bonus tip!)*

*Okay, we know we said ‘Top 10 Ways’ but this one is too important to leave out!

Don’t feel like you have to be everything, do everything and be everywhere for everyone. If you’re feeling tired or a little rundown, take a break. Decline invitations if you’re not feeling up to the event, spend some time sleeping in, chilling out or doing absolutely nothing if you need. We all need to recharge our batteries every now and then, so don’t feel guilty if that means you have to miss a few social occasions. Learn to listen to your body and rest when you need it.

Most of all, try to be mindful of taking it a little slower as you go about your days. Breathe deeply, try not to rush and take the time to notice even the smallest things about yours days. You’ll be amazed at the things you’ll discover and enjoy when you pause and look around. Let our gorgeous Slow Collection help you on your journey, and treat your loved ones to a slower-paced 2021 by gifting them one or two things from this beautiful range.
