“The hardships that I encountered in the past will help me succeed in the future” – Philip Emeagwali

Often it’s the tough experiences that make us so much stronger. While it’s not great to dwell on negative experiences, it’s still important that we learn from them. Sit down with a Notebook and think about a time you’ve encountered a hardship in the past. Write down how it made you feel, what you learned from the experience and what you’d do differently next time. Now use these thoughts to move forward with positivity.

Our favourite Be Brave quotes and exercises

“You must do the thing you think you cannot do” – Eleanor Roosevelt

Our own fear can be the biggest thing that holds us back. To inspire yourself to live with courage, start making a habit of doing things that scare you. Perhaps it’s striking up a conversation with a stranger or doing a skydive. Whatever it is that scares you, force yourself to take little steps to conquer your fear. Before you know it, nothing will be able to hold you back.

“You can achieve anything you want in life if you have the courage to dream it” – Sydney A. Friedman

The first step to achieving your goals is to have set dreams to work towards. Using our Goals  Journal, write down everything you’d like to achieve, big or small. It could be learning a language, starting a family or turning your hobby into a business. Use your Journal to imagine exactly what your dream life will look like and then start working towards it.

“Go the extra mile, it’s never crowded” – Wayne Dyer

This is one of our favourite quotes and such a good motto for life in general. If you’ve got something you’d love to achieve, whether it’s landing your dream job or starting a successful blog, this is a great quote to keep in mind. Pause and think about what you’ve done to achieve your goal. Is there anything else you can do even better? For example, if you’ve got a job interview, is there a project or some ideas you can bring to make you stand out from the crowd? Be brave enough to go the extra mile. Knowing you’ve honestly tried your hardest will bring peace of mind no matter what the result.
