I’m always trying to improve my life in all sorts of ways – and love reading and researching ways to live my best life everyday. As the year comes to an end I’m super excited about a fresh new year where anything is possible. Here are some thoughts that could inspire you to do the same.
1. Take a little ‘me time’ to create a list of all your achievements this year, large and small. When I do this I always feel grateful for all the things I have achieved and inspired to do even more for the new year. It’s so important to take a little time to recognise what you’ve made of the year just gone.
2. Think about just one habit you could create in the new year that would truly make the most difference in your life. For example, maybe exercising daily will have a positive flow on effect on other important areas of your life, leading you to eat healthier, drink more water, sleep better and feel more energised. Find your one key habit that will make the most positive difference in your life and start with a focus on that. Find a way to embed that as a true habit by doing it for 66 days straight so it becomes automatic.
3. Create a list of all the little things in life that you love doing – for me that includes hand-writing cards, getting up early, drinking tea, reading books etc. – then commit to do them at least once a week in a way that energises you and makes you feel great. Life is short so make sure you enjoy the little things in life.
4. Reflect daily. I find when I take time to reflect each night in my journal – even for just 5 minutes – I re-live the day and I also seem to remember the days more.
