For me, Christmas really is the best time of year. I have so many precious memories of growing up in Sweden and all the wonderful traditions we enjoyed together as a family. From going to pick out a Christmas tree to getting all the gifts wrapped beautifully and placed underneath, there’s so much to enjoy. Now that I have a family of my own, I love getting organised early to ensure we all have a beautiful Christmas – and I can enjoy that calm and in control feeling that comes from proper planning! These are the tips that I’ll be using to organise my holiday season.
Make a Check List
I’ll be using My Christmas Organiser to help me make a list of everything that needs to be done over the next 3 months, from buying presents to budgeting and meal planning. With monthly calendars, to do lists, a budget planner and more, it’s got everything I need to stay in control. I keep it in my bag and check in regularly to make sure I tick off each task as I go.
Capture all of my gift ideas
I love seeing the look on my loved ones’ faces when I’ve found them the perfect gift. October is when I start researching gift ideas so I have plenty of time to find the perfect one. I write these down as I go in My Christmas Organiser so when it’s time to go shopping, I already know exactly what I’m going to buy for each person.
Break down my Christmas Card list
Christmas is the perfect time to send your love with pen and paper and it’s really important to me that I remember everyone. That’s why I write down my Christmas Card list early, making sure I have the correct address for each person. Then I split this up into 4 or 5 groups, writing and sending off a few at a time. That way I make sure I have the time to write a special message in each one, sitting down with a glass of glӧgg and gingerbread, while enjoying Christmas music and candles. I love writing cards and these things make it even more special so I look forward to it even more.
Create a Wrapping Station
There’s nothing like a beautifully wrapped gift to spread the Christmas cheer. From Wrapping Paper to Gift Tags, I love having everything to hand so I can wrap as I go. I also use my Paper Lover’s Book for gorgeous DIY touches. Once I’ve got everything together and ready to go, I set up a wrapping station at home, keeping all my essentials in one place so I can easily find what I need.
