Moments with mum are so special and we love celebrating every single one. That’s why we’ve been asking some of our favourite bloggers to fill out our Mum’s Story Book with their mums. It’s the perfect way to find out more about your mum and is a beautiful keepsake that you’ll both enjoy sharing for years to come. Next up, we’ve got the lovely Geneva Vanderzeil from the blog A Pair and a Spare who has used hers to find out more about her mum.
What’s your favourite thing you’ve learnt about your mum from filling out the book?
As I get older I think I’ve become much more interested about the person my mum was in her twenties, the experiences she had and the friendships she made. Her travels around the world are so inspiring – she travelled overland from England to Thailand by bus and on that trip used the first Lonely Planet ever written, it was actually just a few pieces of A4 paper!
What’s the most important thing she’s taught you?
She’s taught me oh so much about life (everything in fact) and I guess two things immediately come to mind. One is about not judging people on face value and the other is about never living beyond your means. Both invaluable and important in their own ways.
What’s your favourite “moment with mum”?
Mum has walked for an hour every morning since I can remember, and whenever I’m staying with my parents I’ll do that with her, it’s always the perfect time to catch up and underscores the whole day.
