What does the perfect home look like to you?
A perfect home to me is a home that reflects its imperfect owners in its own unique way. It is uncluttered – but not sterile, spacious – but doesn’t need to be big, light – with abundant natural light and light colours and warm – as in a warm embracing hug.
What’s one quick thing everyone could do to improve their home space?
The creation of a home is slow process and just as in other areas of your life, like creating good health, fitness, wealth and relationships it is the small daily actions repeated over a long time that has the most impact. To improve your home space start with one small thing every day for 66 days – (the time it takes to create a habit). For example, throw something out that you are not using anymore, bring in some greenery from outside, fix the rattling handle to the laundry, sort out one drawer in the kitchen, rearrange the books on one shelf. Anything that is easy to do and doesn’t take more than 10 minutes. Every day! Give yourself a little tick in your diary or on a wall chart when you are done. When the 66 days are over I guarantee you have will have developed a habit that will become second nature and you will be amazed at the result.
What’s one thing you’re dreaming about?
One of my current dreams is to design a luxury boutique hotel. Also, fresh linen sheets are always a dream of mine!
What one stationery item can’t you leave the house without?
A mechanical pencil and a sketch book
