Inspiration From Our kikki.K Planner Community – Keep Planning and Stay Connected

We’ve been so inspired by the incredible creativity and positivity that we’ve seen come out of such a challenging year, especially from our kikki.K Planner Community, who have continued to inspire us on ways to plan and stay connected through even the most uncertain of times. All the while adding colour and spreading joy throughout the community.

To share a little of this inspiration, we thought we’d check in with a few of our inspiring kikki.K Planner Lovers to see how they’re planning and connecting right now, and ask how they’ve been managing through this unprecedented year. Here’s what they had to say…

Q | What’s in your planner this month/the month ahead?
A |

In September, I’m really settling into my new small business. In my Planner, I’m keeping track of my schedule and all the big projects for my 9-5 job, and using another section for notes for the small business – you never know where inspiration can strike you, so I love having the B6 grid paper handy. The grid structure helps me focus my thoughts and I find myself better able to prioritise and organise the various parts of my life.

Q | How are you staying connected as a Planner Community?
A |

While in many ways this has been quite an isolated time, in some ways I feel very connected. A group of us planner friends in Melbourne started a weekly video chat group, where we get together and plan or craft or just chat via video and stay connected. We’ve had up to 25 people join in at any one time, from all across Australia and even a fellow planner lover from the US joins in quite regularly. I actually had a birthday in isolation and spent the afternoon with my planner friends in a video session that went well into the night. As we say in the community, ‘planner friends make the best friends’, and I am grateful to have this group of people in my life, especially during this time.

Q | What kikki.K favourites have been helping you plan (or just bring you joy!) during the pandemic?
A |

My favourite kikki.K items have been my Planners. I absolutely love setting up a planner and I’ve done quite a few setups over the last few months. I love layering papers, vellum and acetate, as well as my own photos into my planner. I think it makes it such a personal, comfortable and happy place – it’s important to make your planner a place where you want to hang out, so that you keep coming back to it. This really helps you stay on track and motivated to work on your goals.

My favourite planner at the moment is my B6 Blush Quilted Planner which Kristina gifted to me last year. I love this planner and I use it every day as my work planner. It’s a gorgeous, tactile planner that I love having with me.

Q | What’s in your planner this month/the month ahead?
A |

Due to the uncertain status of our world right now, I have mainly kept reminders such as birthdays or pay day in my monthly Planner. My weekly planner, I fill out mostly day-by-day, as things progress.

Q | How are you staying connected as a Planner Community?
A |

I think having an online community has never been as important as it is now. With the planner community, we’re still able to plan and create at home (even though the planning part looks very different these days) and then share our creativity and productivity with each other. I’ve seen more inspirational quotes than ever in my feeds, and my kikki.K Quote Cards or Affirmation Cards have never been as important for me!

Q | What kikki.K favourites have been helping you plan (or just bring you joy!) during the pandemic?
A |

I have stuck to a simple daily To Do List the past few months, which has been working great and inspiring me to get things done despite all the uncertainty. Sometimes, a checklist and a pen are all you need to get inspired!

Q | What’s in your planner this month/the month ahead?
A |

My work has been super busy in the last few months, so lots of To Do Lists and Note papers are keeping me sane!

Q | How are you staying connected as a Planner Community?
A |

Desley and I are part of a group (along with some other awesome Planner peeps) who were organising a planner event for this year. When it needed to be cancelled, we took the group online and have been holding regular zoom meeting catch ups that really help keep us all motivated and connected.

Q | What kikki.K favourites have been helping you plan (or just bring you joy!) during the pandemic?
A |

I’ve been so thankful to have so many kikki.K Notepads throughout the pandemic. Not only are they absolutely beautiful and make my notes and scribbles so much more fun – but the inspirational quotes included can really brighten a bad day.
