This Saturday is Swedish Midsommar, which means it’s the perfect time to celebrate with strawberries, sunshine and all things Swedish. In Sweden, families and friends love getting together to celebrate the high point of summer and enjoy the national holiday in style. We also love making and wearing these flower crowns to mark the occasion.
Be inspired to bring some Swedish style to your day with our flower crown how-to.
What you’ll need…
Floral Tape
Floral Wire
Fresh Flowers – use a mix of colours and styles
Scissors
What to do…
Start with your flower crown base. Measure enough floral wire to wrap around your head 2-3 times. Cut to length and twist on itself to make a secure circle.
We like to cut the stems of our flowers, and then make a plan for how our final crown will look before getting started. This makes it so much easier when it comes to actually assembling your crown.
Taking a couple of flowers at a time, attach to wire base with floral tape. If you’re using professional grade floral tape, remember you have to pull the tape to make it sticky. Repeat this step until you have completed your crown.
We hope you have fun making your flower crowns! Discover more DIY tools here.
