How to Create a Study Space You’ll Never Want to leave!

Whether you’re working or studying, full-time or part-time, at home or physically in an office, setting up your workspace so it’s a place you truly love to be in is so important. When we’re happy and feel comfortable, we’re so much more productive. And when we’re surrounded by things of beauty and functionality that make our lives not only more pleasant but easier, our creative mind has the space and inspiration it needs to soar!

So, when it comes to setting up the perfect desk space for you, there are some tried and tested tips we swear by at kikki.K, so keep reading to find out more and get a closer look at our gorgeous and meaningful kikki.K x Malala Fund Collection was well!

Keep it fun and colourful, but KEEP IT SIMPLE!

When it comes to creating a space you love, colour plays a huge part. Keeping the area fresh and vibrant with a selection of two to three main colours as your accents, and choosing a neutral background to bring it all together is a great place to start. Our latest kikki.K x Malala Fund Collection features a couple of bold colours on a mostly white or pale coloured background, so it’s perfect for adding vibrancy, without being too over the top. Mix and match and choose the items that work for you. Remember, when creating a space you love, use colours and things you love, it’s the only way!

Choose products that will help (not hinder) your Work

A beautiful space is one thing, but if you’re not choosing items for your desk that will help you be productive and complete your work efficiently, as well as looking lovely, then you’re going about it the wrong way. Our advice? Make a list of all the things you need to keep handy on your desk, all the things you need to keep packed away in drawers and all the tools you’ll need to make this year your best year yet, then shop from there.

For example, our A4Spiral Notebook 3PK and A5 Spiral Notebook 3PK are the ultimate desk items for note taking, journaling, assignment planning and even doodling away while you’re on a phone call or video meeting. Think about the types of Pens and Markers you’ll need to complete your work as well – and how you will store them on your desk. Do you need a Study Planner perhaps? A handy little Notepad for notes on the go, or a fun Notepad to keep you smiling? Think about the items that will help you and make your choices from there.

Organisation is key

If there’s one thing we’ve always said – and will continue to say forever – at kikki.K, it’s that organisation is most certainly the key to any stylish and functional workspace, but it is even more importantly the key to unlocking your productivity. Organisation can be physical storage or display items that help you keep all of your bits and bobs in order, like handy Tabbed Pockets, a Stationery Kit, Trinket Tray or Pot to hold all your essential tools and accessories.  Or (and these are our favourites) it could mean clever products that help you organise your valuable time throughout the day, week, month or year. Make the most of your time and take control with Study Planners, Planners, Daily Planning Journals, Study Notes Pads and more. Think about what it is you need to help you stay organised and on top of all your tasks, then choose the perfect pieces for your space.

A little inspiration can go a long way

All work and no play is certainly not the ideal recipe for success, so ensure you have a few items on your desk that inspire you, that are fun, and that give you a break from your day-to-day tasks. If you love to journal, ensure you have an inspiring Journal on hand at all times. If inspiring words and messages keep you motivated, be sure to display some Empowerment Cards on your desk and in your Planner to keep you energised. And if you love getting creative, be sure to keep some fun papercraft items handy for whenever inspiration strikes. May we suggest our Paper Lover’s Book and Sticker Book? And if you enjoy self-development and learning, why not keep one of our Toolkits or books on your desk as well, to inspire a little growth each day? If you haven’t already read I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai, pop it on your list!

The things we do each day are much more important than the things we do once in a while. So, when it comes to setting up the perfect work environment, make a promise to consider all the things that improve your mental and physical wellbeing as well: from drinking more water to keeping healthy snacks on hand. Our kikki.K x Malala Fund Drink Bottleis the perfect desk accessory to encourage you to drink more so you can tick off your two litres a day.

We just love setting up and seeing inspiring desk spaces of all shapes and sizes, and love seeing your top tips as well! Hopefully we’ve inspired you to get a little creative with your own workspaces, and if so, we’d love you to share your end result with on using the tag #kikkiklove
