Championing Girls’ Education: kikki.K x Malala Fund Partnership

Inspired by Malala Yousafzai’s dream of a world where every girl can choose her own future, we are so excited to share that we have joined forces with Malala Fund to create a beautiful kikki.K x Malala Fund product collection – which is Malala Fund’s first ever stationery product collaboration in Australia – to help empower people around the world, and raise awareness for girls’ education.

Growing up in Pakistan, Malala Yousafzai loved going to school. When the Taliban banned education for girls in her village, Malala spoke out for her right to learn. After surviving an attack on her life on her way home from school at age 15, Malala’s voice only grew louder, and she was determined to continue her fight for equality until every girl could go to school. In 2014, Malala became the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. Today she continues her incredible work through Malala Fund, an organisation that champions 12 years of free, safe, quality education for all girls.

Featuring a unique kikki.K design in a warm and cheerful colour palette, this collection is bursting with inspiration to help people all over the world to learn, lead and grow. It features perfect accessories to head back to school, college or university and study in style, including Notebooks, Pens, Pencil Cases, Study Planners and practical everyday companions for your desk or your travels (Drink Bottles, Lunch Boxes & Lunch Bags and a Tote Bag) that will also make you smile as you head back to it.

This partnership with Malala Fund aims to help Malala Yousafzai in her quest to break down barriers to girls’ education around the globe. Making this partnership even more timely, are the lasting effects Malala Fund says that COVID-19 will have on the lives of most marginalised girls. The global pandemic resulting in 90% of the world’s countries shutting school doors was a temporary hiatus for most, but Malala Fund estimates that approximately 20 million more secondary school-aged girls could be out of school after the crisis has passed.

Our work with Malala Fund will help the organisation focus on addressing the immediate and long-term implications of the pandemic on girls’ education. Its key priorities are to keep girls learning through school closures, re-enrol girls to catch up on missed lessons, support teachers with resources and training, strengthen the system against future crises and ensure girls’ physical and psychological wellbeing in the classroom.

Malala Fund’s mission aligns perfectly with our kikki.K purpose of inspiring and empowering people all over the world to live their best life every day. And our founder, Kristina Karlsson, believes the start of the new school year in Australia is the perfect opportunity to turn a spotlight on breaking down education barriers for girls, which Malala Yousafzai has been advocating for since she was 11 years old.

“For so many, a new school year is synonymous with a fresh start, the excitement of reconnecting and forming new friendships, getting organised, working in beautiful new stationery and of course the incredible opportunity to learn, lead and grow. But the reality is, there are millions of people around the world who don’t have this opportunity. We’re so proud to partner with Malala Fund in a movement to help break down these barriers,” says Kristina.

OUR PROMISE TO MALALA FUND

kikki.K proudly supports Malala Fund in its quest to break down barriers of inequality and work toward a world where every girl can learn and lead. As part of the kikki.K x Malala Fund product collaboration and with your support, kikki.K will donate at least USD $100,000 to Malala Fund to help Malala Yousafzai chase her dream of a world where every girl can choose her own future.

This beautiful kikki.K x Malala Fund Collection provides the perfect opportunity for people all over the world to join the movement in getting more girls to school. Adorned with a unique print – inspired by Malala’s love of colour and fashion – and powerful words from Malala herself, we, along with the Malala Fund encourage you to take them into your everyday lives for school, work and beyond this year and help share their message.

“I am so grateful for Kristina Karlsson and kikki.K’s support to help me achieve my dream of giving all girls around the world an education,” says Malala Yousafzai.
