As many of us adjust to life at home, away from our normal schedule and routine, and manage our way through what can only be described as one of the most challenging times the world has seen, it’s important to keep doing things that make us feel good and to look after ourselves, and each other (from a distance of course). And while there are many activities available to us, something the kikki.K team believes can help us through difficult times is simply putting pen to paper. Writing down whatever is on your mind.
Whether it’s journaling for pages and pages or simply stopping for a short moment of self-awareness, let these 20 simple journaling prompts below help you to process and record your thoughts and feelings during these ever-changing and challenging times.
1| List all the things that made you smile today…
2| What is something that really frustrated you about today? Why do you think it made you so frustrated?
3| How are you feeling right now?
4| List all the people in your life who make you happy, and why?
5| What has been the most challenging thing about this week?
6| Write down a list of 30 things that make you happy
7| What are three goals you can set yourself to achieve this week?
8| What are three things you’re grateful for right now?
10| What would you do with your life if you had all the money and time you needed?
11| What is worrying you the most right now?
12| If you could speak to your teenage self, what advice would you give?
13| What do you want to have achieved by the end of this week?
14| What are five things that you are really looking forward to?
15| What is the best advice you have ever been given?
16| What do you love most about yourself?
17| If you could change one thing about your life, what would it be? And why?
18| What are five things you’d like to stop doing in my life?
19| What are five things you’d love to start doing?
20| Find an inspirational quote that resonates with you. Write it down then write about how and why you think it resonated with you.
So, as we work through these new and sometimes difficult times, remember the simple power of putting pen to paper. Schedule in a moment each day or an hour each week, whatever you can fit in, and write it all down. By putting everything in writing you’ll be getting it out of your head and onto the page, so you can create a calmer mindset.
Grab a beautiful notebook, notepad or journal and pen and maybe even light a candle and make a ritual out of it. Write your ideas, feelings, thoughts, discoveries, worries or any concerns that may be weighing you down. And remember, the simple act of sitting down to put pen to paper is an act of self-care in itself. Keep the above in mind as something you can try as you navigate through these uncertain times, and remember to look after yourself.

Christmas is all about loved ones, being grateful for each other and showing how much we care. From our family, friends, and colleagues we see every day, to our loved ones living far and wide, this is the time of year to show them just how much we love them. And what better way to do so than by gifting a heartfelt card or gift, and adding your own personal touches to make it truly unique? Here are some simple, yet beautiful ways you can personalise your gifting this festive season.
Choose gift wrapping to suit your recipient’s personality and style.
Consider: Are they minimal in their taste or do they love pops of colour and cuteness? Would they enjoy a little luxury in their gift-wrapping, or do they love the more traditional Christmas style? Giving a gift wrapped with the recipient in mind is a beautiful way to show that you’ve put thought into your gift-giving.
Write a heartfelt message in a card or gift tag and attach to your presents
Nothing says ‘I care’ more than a heartfelt, meaningful message at Christmas time. Take the time to write a personal note to everyone on your gift list and you’re sure to make their day. Whether you choose to use greeting cards, gift tags or even write directly onto your wrapping paper, you can’t go past a personal message when it comes to making someone feel loved.
Get crafty with your wrapping
For the creative types out there, Christmas is your time to shine! Choose papers, embellishments and stickers you love and experiment with all sorts of papercraft and DIY elements to use in your gift wrapping. If you’re looking for somewhere to start, you can’t go past our Ultimate Gift Wrapping Book and Paper Lover’s Books for all your DIY paper-crafting goodness.
Think outside the box when it comes to your wrapping materials
While paper and gift tags are a beautiful way to wrap your gifts, take a moment this year to think a little differently. Why not use gorgeous coordinating ribbon to attach a beautiful ornament to your gift (our Mini Baubles are just perfect for this!) or step out into the garden and pick some flowers and greenery to include in your wrapping as well? Perhaps you could use a gift bag rather than wrapping paper and include some of the recipient’s favourite flowers or treats in there as well as their gifts? It’s these simple yet unique touches that will make your gifts stand out, and show your recipient that you truly care.
Enjoy the feeling that comes from adding some personal touches to your gifts this year and love being a #giverofgood with our gorgeous cards, wrap and trim, available in store and online at kikki.K.
