Hippie Lane founder, Taline Gabriel, has taken a moment to share with us how to decorate your Christmas tree, and how to stay focused on your styling vision to create your Dream Christmas.
A Dream Christmas for me revolves around food, family and simple, yet elegant styling. Simplifying has been a recurring theme in my wellness goals and this applies to all aspects of my life including the festive period.
The first sign that Christmas is on the radar is the appearance of Christmas trees in all the local stores. This leads to the excitement of assembling and styling your own Christmas Tree!
My advice is to:
1. Collect some snaps of your ideal tree and direct your energy into achieving this look.
2. Stay true to your vision and notice what you like about it.
3. Pay attention to its size, styled colours, decor and room setting.
4. I like a minimal look so I keep it simple with tree baubles (using a few colours only) on a petite Christmas tree, with a few added fairy lights to set the mood and create ambience.
5. Add final touches with stars and confetti; they’re always a welcome addition to the styling… and puppies also help!
October 4th is a special day for lovers of the delicious cinnamon bun – yum! All across Sweden, families and loved ones gather together to celebrate Cinnamon Bun Day by making – and enjoying – this classic homemade treat.

300ml / 1 ¼ cup whole milk
1 tsp ground cardamom seeds
50g / ¼ cup butter
425g / 3.4 cups plain flour
7g / 1 small packet fast action yeast
60g /⅓ cup caster sugar
¼ tsp fine salt
1 egg, beaten lightly
Oil, to grease
For the filling
75g /⅓ cup cup butter, softened
50g / ½ cup dark brown sugar
½ tsp salt
1 egg, beaten lightly
Demerara sugar, to sprinkle
Start by heating the milk until steaming in a pan with the cardamom. Allow to simmer for a couple of minutes before taking off the heat. Allow to cool until lukewarm. In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients. There is no need to add water to the yeast before adding this in. Make a well in the bowl and add in the lightly beaten egg and the warm milk mixture. Combine with a wooden spoon.
Using your hands, kneed for 5 minutes on a floured surface until the mixture feels soft and springy. Place dough into a greased bowl, cover and leave somewhere warm to prove for at least 45 minutes. Meanwhile, make your filling by beating together each ingredient until well combined.
Once your dough has risen, take it out of the bowl, knock back and roll into a 35cm x 25cm rectangle. Spread the filling evenly onto dough and roll tightly into a Swiss roll shape. Cut into 7 equal sized buns and line up on a baking tray. Leave to prove a second time for 30 minutes or overnight in the refrigerator. The dough should spring back easily when you press it lightly.
When ready to bake, heat oven to 200C/400F/gas mark six and bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
We love seeing how kikki.K fans are using their favourite products, so we asked the amazing Jordan Clark to show us how she was inspired to use our new Life is Wonderful Refillable Leather Notebook. Jordan has built a passionate community who love seeing her bullet journal ideas, letter art and organisation tips. Find out how she is using our latest Notebook to plan her dreams and goals in her video and short Q&A below.
Do you enjoy keeping a journal? What are the benefits you have found from doing so?
Yes, I love keeping a journal! I’ve kept a journal ever since I was a child, and have loved being able to look back on all my memories that I otherwise would have forgotten over the years. I also love journalling as a way of relaxing at the end of a long day! It helps calm my mind and reflect on everything that happened.
Which different ways did you use this refillable notebook?
I used the refillable notebook in several different ways! One way was to make gratitude lists at the end of each day in order to reflect on what I appreciate. Another way was to plan some of my goals, so each day I know what to do to work towards them! And finally, I used the refillable notebook to sketch and doodle whenever I wanted a little break to be creative!
How did you enjoy the flexibility to create a set-up personalised to your life?
I absolutely loved being able to set up the journal however I wanted! I like having the freedom to switch things up when I get bored, or whenever I want to try out something new. I also loved being able to separate things into the different notebooks inside the journal!
Tell us a little about your daily routine. How do you ensure you make time for the things that make you happy?
Since I work from home, having a routine ensures I’m able to achieve all the goals I’ve set for myself. Morning is my favorite time of day, so I like to wake up early so that I have lots of extra time for drinking coffee, reading, and taking things slow before I begin my work.
The number of hours I work varies each day – I often end up working late into the night because I’m so excited about the project I’m working on! To make sure I have time for things that make me happy, I schedule a day or two each week that are completely open, so I have the freedom to do whatever I’d like! This gives me a break from my usual work and allows me to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
What stationery item can you not live without?
I can’t live without at least a few notebooks! I’m always jotting down ideas, sketching, or making lists- so I love having a collection of notebooks to keep everything in!
