5 Simple Organisation Tips to Start Right Now

Getting organised for life is all about making small changes and sticking to them. To help you get started, we thought we’d share a few simple steps you can take right now. Why not set yourself the challenge to do one each day? Before you know it, you’ll have mastered the art of effortless organisation.

1. Set yourself the 10 minute tidy challenge

For 10 minutes each day, either first thing in the morning or last thing at night, target one room for an instant tidy. Clear all surfaces and move all clutter into actionable piles, for example clothes in the laundry bin or dishes in the kitchen.

2. Start a paper system

Treat yourself to our My Life Organiser Folder and store all your important paperwork in one place. Now every time a bill arrives or you renew a subscription, you can add it quickly into this folder for safekeeping.

3. Start a ‘Get Home’ routine

Having a set routine you follow each time you come home will set you up for organisation success. Your routine could include putting all shoes and jackets away, emptying out your bag and sorting through your receipts and papers from the day. You’ll love the calm feeling of having everything in its place the next morning.

4. Start a Diary or Calendar

Whether it’s a personal Diary or a Family Calendar, make sure you write down all of your important dates and appointments. Be sure to check in regularly and you’ll love having a better overview of the month ahead.

5. Clear out cupboards and wardrobes

Starting one at a time, go through your whole house and pull everything out of each cupboard. Then replace each item one at a time, only keeping those things you really use regularly. Don’t be afraid to throw out and recycle things you never use and consider keeping little-used but still-loved items in Storage Boxes instead.
